1. The installation and registration of the application
a. Download the application (link)
b. Unpack and run Setup.exe file
c. After the installation you will see the tab in the menu “Start” and on the desktop (Pic.1)

d. Run the application, with the first startup a registration window will appear. Registration is a free but required step. You need to be connected to the Internet. Follow the link “Click here to get serial number free” and fill in the registration form. After the registration you will receive the e-mail with a program serial number. Enter it to the registration form (Pic. 2)

e. Press Ok – the application is ready for use.

3. Templates Import
When you purchase a template for FancyFlip you get a zip archive with the following content (Pic.3):

Psd folder – contains all images of the template in photoshop format
Fonts folder – contains fonts used in the template
Flash\_upload folder – this is a readymade website. To view it you may run the index.html file from the given folder.
CMS folder contains the template which will be used by FancyFlip program.
Run FancyFlip and click Import Template.

In the OpenFileDialog choose the file from your template CMS folder. If the template was purchased on the http://flashmint.com it will be imported automatically. But in case you have bought the template from another marketplace you should register this template. You will see the window (Pic.5)

Follow the window link “Click here to get template info, after enter info at this form” and you will be redirected to the registration page. Fill in all the necessary fields in the registration form and wait till the letter on your e-mail arrives. This may take a few hours. After it you will receive the template registration number which you need to enter in the form on the Pic.5 and press Ok button.

Important! While registering the template your computer must be connected to the Internet.

3. Templates use
After the import the template will appear in the FancyFlip templates repository. Run the application, click the “Create new project…” button (Pic.6).

You will see the window where you can choose the template for a new project creation. The window will contain the preview of the templates you have purchased and imported in FancyFlip (Pic.7).

First select the template you want to use for a new project with a mouse, the template name will appear in the Template Name field (Pic.7).

Then type the name of the project into the New Project Name field and press Ok.
After it FancyFlip will create and open a project (Pic.8)

Take into account that the projects are created in the “MyDocuments\FlipProjects 1.0” folder.

4. Projects use
You can create a new project with the template as it was described in paragraph 3, or open the already created one. In order to do it click the “Open project…” button (Pic.9)

You will see the window with the existing projects (Pic.10)

You can delete the project from your computer in this window via “Delete selected” button. You can also open the project to work with it.
You are able to open several projects in different bookmarks (Pic.11)

As you have seen on the Pic.11 the control panel has several buttons.
Let us identify their functionality:
– create new project with a template (Create new project)
– open the existing project (Open project)
– save changes (Save)
– save a project with a new name (Save As)
– refresh the browser window
– the button with popup menu. Allows uploading your site to the ftp server or (if the project is already uploaded to the server) uploading only changes from the time of previous upload.
– import of the template to the templates repository.

5. Project editing
Fancy Flip is a CMS for flip book websites editing.
Every book consists of the chapters. Every chapter has its pages or spreadpages (double-page spread). Every page has its content: images and/or music and/or video.
The book also has its background, sizes and some additional design elements which we will consider further.

When you open the project you can see the browser window on the left and the project control panel on the right (Pic.12)

The control panel contains three tabs: Book, Navigation bar and Settings
Book tab serves for website content management. Here you can edit such elements as:
- browser title
- background image
- book size

This tab also allows you adding a new chapter to the book as well as pages to every chapter and content to each page (Pic.13)

Moreover, you can import the pdf document while editing a chapter.

In order to implement it you should click the   button in the editing form and choose the necessary pdf file from your computer. After it the application will add the pages with pdf document content to the current chapter.

Navigation bar tab allows you managing the appearance of the navigation panel.
Here you can change the buttons design as well as color and transparency of the navigation panel background.

Settings tab.
This tab requires entering the ftp details for the proper work of integrated ftp client. This is important while uploading the project to the host.
